Robin Hood

So I was never expecting much from this film, after all anything after watching Disney's Robin Hood seems mundane and unoriginal, right?! The producers were going for something a bit different, a new kind of Robin Hood. Unfortunately I felt they moved so far away from the original storyline that the film essentially ended up being a medieval action movie. Furthermore, there was plenty of historical inaccuracies. Like when did the french attack Britain in a battle that was remeniscent of something out of the D-Day scene in Saving Private Ryan. I was also confused and unconvinced by Russell Crowes accent (Colin Farrell would have done a better job) that seemed to be all over the place, seriously get it right! Anyway, it wasn't all doom and gloom, the battle scenes (some of them anyway) were pretty good and although the plot was predictable and had the monotonous romance side-plot playing out in its typical manner, the landscape that the film was shot on helped keep it at least a little less dull. Here's me hoping they forget about a sequel and concentrate on something with a bit of edge!
